She was raised in the Fiji Islands and now lives and works in Iceland; two very different islands which are hit by climate change in a very different way. Her professional background is fisheries data modelling and stock assessment.

Warsha Singh, an ecologist at the Marine and Freshwater Research Institute’s Pelagic division in Iceland, was selected to participate at the UNESCO International Day of Women in Multilateralism 2024. The forum took place 25 January at the UNESCO Headquarters in Paris, France.

The theme of the event was: Gender Equality to solve the Climate Emergency. The Day will recognize women leaders in the multilateral system to catalyze a global dialogue on multilateral solutions to gender discrimination that inhibits responses to climate emergencies.
