Advisory Committee

The Ministry of Industries and Innovation appoints a nine member Advisory Committee for a term of four years. The committee is responsible for providing counsel on long-term strategic planning, as well as providing contact with stakeholders.

The committee was appointed in December 2016.

  • Erla Björk Örnólfsdóttir, nominated by the Ministry of Education, Science and Culture
  • Heiðdís Smáradóttir, nominated by the Icelandic Aquaculture Association
  • Örn Pálsson, nominated by the National Association of Small Boat Owners
  • Ragnheiður Thorsteinsson, nominated by the Association of Icelandic Angling Clubs
  • Sveinbjörn Eyjólfsson, nominated by the Federation of Icelandic River Owners
  • Kristján Þórðarson, nominated by Fisheries Iceland
  • Árni Bjarnason, nominated by the Icelandic Fishermen's Associations
